Welcome to the CDC’s Ask Me Anything Winter break series.
Missed yesterday’s? We got you: https://careers.newark.rutgers.edu/blog/2021/01/08/january-8-2021-ask-me-anything-winter-break-series/
Today’s question is: Should I go to graduate school instead of looking for a job right now?
In short: Weigh the costs and benefits and consider the job market.
Some questions to ask yourself as you’re deciding:
- Have you done research in your industry, is there a value add to getting another degree?
- Do you need this degree for licensure?
- Is this a professional graduate degree?
- Is it possible to get an employer to pay for the degree?
