Digitizing Intern

We have three manufacturing facilities and thirteen Showrooms. As part of our Summer Internship Program, we are seeking a Digitizing Intern at Stickley’s Fine Upholstery Factory in Archdale, NC
General Description/Purpose:
The Digitizing Intern-Operator will provide a high level of service to ensure employee, customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The Digitizing Operator does this by operating a digitizing machine to make electronic copies of fabric and leather furniture patterns. The Digitizing Operator completes these functions in the manufacture of furniture parts and pieces.
Job Responsibilities:
- Pull plastic leather patterns and cardboard fabric patterns down from racks
- Trace patterns pieces on an electronic drafting table (digitizer) that is sent to the PC to be saved electronically
- Edit and modify patterns as needed using the pattern-making program
- Group similar patterns in a model in the program and save work once pattern is digitized
- Ability to use tools to verify patterns including but not limited to a tape measure, pencil
- Ability to operate a computer mouse and move the mouse around the pattern pieces exactly and accurately
- Must possess computer aptitude and ability to learn the pattern-making program
- Some data entry and other tasks as assigned
