Internship Government, Law, & Public Policy, Nonprofit, Social Justice, & EducationExpires April 1, 2021

The Summer Season begins mid-May and ends in mid-October. Summer adventures include a ropes course, mountain biking, hand cycling, rock climbing, rafting, hiking, horseback riding, canoeing, and kayaking. The Summer Field Intern will get hands-on experience both in the field and at the office.

Through a variety of clinics and training, interns are expected to learn the skills required for each activity we offer to participants. While in the field, interns will eventually become co-instructors for each excursion.

Interns are scheduled to be in the office at least once a week in order to assist with daily operations. They will learn what it takes to make a day run smoothly for summer programs at the ASC. Tasks involve organizing participant paperwork and files, welcoming walk-ins, scheduling future participants, and assisting volunteers and staff members in day-to-day logistics.

Summer Interns also assist with the Crested Butte Open. It is ASC’s biggest fundraiser and interns will learn what it takes to fundraise for a major non-profit. Staff, interns, and volunteers work together to make this event a success.

Even though the internship is unpaid we do provide free housing and $200 a month in a food stipend.
