If you want the professional experience to develop leadership skills, to help lead a team and do it in the most exciting place possible, this a great opportunity! This position offers students an opportunity to spend their summer in a fun, demanding, and rewarding environment. This position will assist the Human Resources Director in the day-to-day management of the summer international exchange program. International University students travel from all over the world to spend their summer working at Adventureland and gaining new cultural experiences.
Duration:
May 2021- August 2021.This position will be scheduled full time hours between spring semester and fall semester, optional weekends-only after fall semester begins. Flexible dates are available. Adventureland safely and successfully opened for our 2020 season and will be open for our 2021 season.
Specific Duties:
• Assist with new international student orientations
• Preparing orientation packets
• Welcome new arrivals and help get them checked in and moved into housing
• Help prepare bed in the student housing facility prior to move in
• Make photocopies and help with the organization documents
• Help plan and execute fun social activities
• Assist students with submitting social security paperwork
• Assist students with opening new bank accounts
• Identify new opportunities for program improvement
• Cooperate with management and the department heads to accomplish tasks
• Assist with addressing any concerns the students may have
• Willingness to transport students in a company van if needed
• Other duties as assigned

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle stress
• Excellent listening skills

• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to be patient and understanding
• Independent, resourceful worker
• Strong time management skills
• Able to work weekends and holidays
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Experience in cash handling and team leadership is preferred
Majors
Business Management, Hospitality Management, Human Resources, Event Management, General Business; Social Science; Human Services, English as a Second Language, Foreign Language, and any Major that deals with people or leadership.
Details
• $11.00/hour
• Season-end bonus program
• Five days a week
• 60-65 hours a week during park season, no time-and-a-half
• Ability to work 65+ hours if desired
