POSITION SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will provide manufacturing and process engineering support to new product development projects and production operations. The person in this position will work closely with the Senior Manufacturing Engineer to design, implement, validate (when required), and/or support the necessary fixtures, tools, processes, and manufacturing documentation that new product development projects and/or production operations requires. In addition, the Manufacturing Engineering Intern will support investigation, evaluation, and testing related to disposition and processing of potentially non-conforming product. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide manufacturing technical/engineering support to new product development projects and production activities.Support investigation and evaluation of non-conforming product to aid in completion of MRB analysis and subsequent disposition of product as required.Analyze internal non-conforming product and field returns to determine root cause and mitigating or corrective actions.Support design, implement, and/or validate (when required) assembly tooling/fixtures/processes for new product development projects and/or production operations.Create/modify and implement manufacturing procedures, routers, BOM’s, and other necessary documentation as required for new product development projects and/or production operations.Transition development activities into production product, as required.Complete testing or engineering builds of product in support of new product development projects and/or production operations.Perform other duties as directed by supervisor. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS (degree, license, certification): Completion of Sophomore or Junior year in a Mechanical Engineering major at an accredited college or universitySummer roles begin in May and last through AugustCandidate must be available to work Monday – Thursday during full day, regular office hours for the duration of the assignmentCandidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g. H1-B status) YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Past work in assembly environments is desirable but not required.
