Job Summary: Opportunity for college students to gain valuable experience in the field of mental health working with at-risk youth alongside expert staff. Treatment complemented by a nationally recognized therapeutic program. The Recreation Youth Care Counselor will provide supervision, recreation counseling, behavior management and monitors the basic needs of these boys who live in cottages on campus. Participate in therapeutic recreation-based program components. Work with the interdisciplinary treatment team members providing programming/recreation for the residents. This may include life guard responsibilities. The daily cottage program is conducted by the counselors to address group behavior and needs. This responsibility includes leading resident group meetings; coordinating recreation activities and participating in other group functions. Program runs from early June to the end of August. Possibly attend annual camping trip to Lake George, New York with regular full time Bonnie Brae direct care staff and residents during third week in August
