The Role

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) department is responsible for the management of Catalent’s compliance programs in accordance with Federal, State and Local regulations in order to help protect the health and safety of our employees and the environment. This means focusing on the policies and procedures that compromise the EH&S program for Facility Management by including the evaluation and control of safety and health hazards in the workplace, routine hazard recognition and environmental management.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing and continuously improving Catalent’s Health and Safety Programs (i.e. Industrial Hygiene, Fire Prevention, Emergency Evacuation, Property Conservation, Ergonomics, etc.) and Environmental and Sustainability Programs (i.e. Energy Conservation, Wastewater Management, Water Conservation, etc.) in accordance with all federal/state/local requirements and company policies/strategies
  • Performing safety Gemba walks as necessary
  • Partnering with managers, supervisors, and employees to minimize occupational health and safety risks by teaching specific safe work habits and driving a behavior-based safety program
  • Assisting with the development, improvement, and management of EH&S Management Systems for the Catalent sites
  • Developing and implementing continuous improvement concepts to better the site’s safety and environmental performance
  • Updating, developing or conducting EH&S training
  • Perform job safety analyses/risk assessments
  • Assisting the Emergency Evacuation Team (emergency response team) as necessary
  • Responding to various incidents
  • Leading and participating in site inspections and audits

The Candidate

In order to be eligible for an internship at Catalent, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
  • Must be an undergraduate/graduate student in Environmental, Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics or related field of study
  • Eligible to legally work in the United States
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) for a 10-12-week period over the summer
