Coding Tutor/Instructor (Code Sensei)

Do you enjoy teaching and working with kids? Do you have experience with basic coding? Do you like playing video games? If you answered yes, this might be the job for you!

We are looking for a Sensei (Coding Tutor/Instructor) to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward thinking minds, working toward our common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children. Our Sensei is the lifeblood of our Code Ninjas center. Ideal for College students.

This is a part-time position (Between open hours of M-F 4-8pm, Sa 10-2pm) which can begin immediately with training and on boarding activities. This is an in-center position. We are following all NJDOH Covid19 Safety guidelines to ensure the kids and employees stay safe and healthy.

During a lockdown, this position will be remote as some of the classes will be virtual. For that scenario, you must have access to a reliable internet connection and your own computer to conduct classes remotely.

Hourly compensation based on experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Learn and teach Code Ninjas’ game curriculum
  • Work with children (aka Ninjas) on their belt curriculum
  • Create a positive, safe, and fun environment in which student can grow
  • Assist with Day Camps, Parent Night Outs, Birthday Parties, and Summer Camps
  • Develop/modify STEM activities to support belt and camp curriculum
  • Follow opening/closing and duties daily
  • Conduct virtual classes

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children ages 7 and up
  • Computer programming experience
  • Enthusiastic about working with kids; mentoring and teaching
  • Patient, energetic, kind, and understanding
  • Works well with others; collaborates and takes pride in their work
  • Upbeat and fun individual with a passion for technology and learning
  • Knowledgeable about coding and technology
  • Some experience in Scratch, Unity, Javascript, Robotics, Minecraft, or Roblox

Who are we?

Code Ninjas is the nation’s fastest growing kids coding franchise. In our center, kids ages 7-14 learn to code in a fun, non-intimidating way – by playing and building video games they love. Kids have a blast and can’t wait to come back. Parents are thrilled as their children gain confidence and new skills including coding, math, logic, and problem-solving, as they progress from white to black belt. Our core promise is, Kids have fun, parents see results. We believe in these words so much that it’s written on the walls in our center!

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:

Taking all precautions as per NJDOH Covid19 Safety Guidelines. Washing hands, surface cleaning, social distancing, wearing masks at all times in center.
