The Engineering Intern will assist in design, testing, and maintenance of facilities systems for support of production and infrastructure. The position is intended to be a full-time opportunity for an engineering undergraduate to obtain hands-on experience in the area of facilities support while contributing to business-critical projects.
Essential Duties
- Assist Facilities personnel with testing and troubleshooting building utilities and control systems.
- Manage and complete troubleshooting and process improvement projects, drive issues to resolution, and report out on progress.
- Develop and test engineering, operational, and maintenance procedures consistent with medical device quality regulations.
- Collect and analyze system performance data, generate summary reports, and present results to the project team.
- Identify and evaluate equipment for capital projects and work with a project team to select the best option.
- Assist with organization and identification of facility equipment and maintenance systems.
- Develop facility, utility, and equipment drawings and scope of work documents to support projects.
- Complete and maintain test documentation per GMP standards.

- Ability to work seated for approximately 50% of a typical working day. Ability to work standing for approximately 50% of a typical working day.
- Ability to work in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
- Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
- Ability and means to travel between Madison Exact Sciences locations.
- Ability to climb ladders and effectively access equipment and areas of buildings that include traversing unlevel surfaces and entering hot, cold, dirty, dusty, and loud environments.
