To build rapport with children and families and support them throughout their shelter experience by providing an environment where they feel safe and welcomed. Offer a wide range of activities to promote the physical, social-emotional, and cognitive development of children and adolescents living in the shelter. Follow the policies and procedures as outlined in the Children’s Activity Coordinator Position Manual and the shelter Policy and Procedure Manual. To do what is necessary to support the overall functioning of the shelter.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s Degree in social work, early childhood education, or related field with residential/ childcare experience required.Willingness and capability to work flexible hours including evenings, nights, holidays and weekends as scheduled.Knowledge of and sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, racial and socioeconomic issues.
