Tax Auditor Positions will be located in New York.
Under close supervision of an Audit Supervisor, the Tax Auditor is responsible for learning all the phases of tax audit work by conducting the least to moderately difficult audits of taxpayers to determine the correct amount of tax in accordance with the Federal & California Tax Laws, audit standards, Audit Regulations, Taxpayer Bill of Rights, resource considerations, policies, and procedures. Tax Auditors will plan and organize multiple audits, work directly with taxpayers or their representatives to obtain and analyze relevant facts, and make appropriate determinations that are fair and impartial. The Tax Auditor will then provide complete and concise communication of their findings through written reports or organized meetings. Tax Auditors will be provided with instructions on the laws administered by the department, as well as the basic policies, programs, and procedures of the Franchise Tax Board.
