Seeking a self-starting, motivated data scientist or bioinformatician to both assist in the existing development efforts for novel techniques to identify and interrogate Gene-Environment interactions (GxEs) in a directly translational application as well as pursue their own ideas in that regard.
You will work with the Genteract Data Science Team on the development of analytical techniques to interpret identified GxEs, publish peer-reviewed studies related to their results, and deploy discoveries directly to the consumer market.
Most of our analytics development is done in the R language, and we use Python for some tasks, so proficiency with those languages is preferred.
Machine learning experience and interest is beneficial, although we can train a motivated candidate.
Familiarity with statistical techniques is also a big plus.
- Assisting in further automating our analytical pipeline
- Writing unit and other tests to validate results
- Enhancing our existing analytical methods with machine learning techniques .
Genteract has access to high-dimensional health and genetic data on over 150,000 individuals and has to date conducted genome-wide GxE surveys on over 2,000 phenotype-environment pairs. Genteract’s whole-genome sequencing pipeline and data acquisition tools will also be utilized to gather data to validate and expand the scope of our gene-environment interactions research.
