Gigantem is looking for an earnest intern with an entrepreneurial spirit looking to learn about the brand marketing and communications industries and is eager to maximize the impact they can have in our clients’ campaigns. The PR internship will be great experience for anyone trying to break into any communications field including PR, marketing, broadcasting, journalism, and advertising. Candidates will be encouraged and guided to learn how to write press releases, pitches, converse with journalists, and build brand/personality image from the ground up. In addition, working with Gigantem presents a unique opportunity to learn the ins and outs of a growing business.
The ideal candidate is hardworking and a creative thinker, always candid with their opinions and encouraged by new challenges. They will work with the agency’s owner/founder to discuss learning areas of interest, goals and progress. Please note the internship is available to students only for class credit.
They will assist the founder of the firm in creating media lists, targeting potential editors/journalists for coverage, and furthermore will have a chance to pitch and develop their own media contacts. Other responsibilities will include social media content development, tracking and monthly reporting for clients, inventory and sample management. At the end of the internship the student will leave first-hand experience in the world of luxury marketing, and public relations, media contacts and a portfolio of achieved media coverage.
We require a commitment of at least 16 hours per week, ideally 18-20, spread over the course of three days. We strive to provide students with real-life pitching, editor outreach and relationship building, and need to avoid having editors wait extended periods of time for responses. This is an in-person internship; a hybrid format is a possible depending on the student’s schedule and availability. Compensation is provided in the form of a stipend; value to be determined based on number of hours to be worked per week.
