Internship Arts, Media, & EntertainmentExpires April 23, 2021

Grove Atlantic, Inc. is a medium-sized trade book publisher. We publish literary fiction, nonfiction, drama, and translations under the imprints Grove Press, Atlantic Monthly Press, and Black Cat. We are pleased to offer a remote editorial internship this summer to college juniors, seniors, and recent graduates who wish to learn more about publishing. We are looking for high-energy individuals who are passionate about books, possess strong written and oral communication skills, take initiative, and work effectively with others. Interns must enjoy reading literary fiction and nonfiction and feel capable of voicing their opinion. The main responsibilities of the editorial intern will be reading, evaluating, and reporting on incoming manuscripts. There may also be opportunities to assist with additional editorial tasks, including writing long summaries of upcoming books, brainstorming comp titles, and drafting copy. This internship will be remote and conducted over phone and video calls. The intern will work two days a week for approximately three months and will be paid $15 an hour. We are committed to making publishing an increasingly inclusive and equitable industry and encourage applicants of all backgrounds, races, ethnicities, gender and sexual identities, and disability statuses. We particularly invite those who have not yet had traditional publishing experience to apply. To submit your application, please send a resume and a cover letter to intern@groveatlantic.com and include Editorial Internship in the subject line. Applications will be accepted until April 23.
