Are you a problem solver who enjoys diving into data, is excited by difficult modeling challenges and possesses good interpersonal skills to effectively interface between technical and business teams? – Agency Compensation system (ACS) is one of the business-critical systems for Guardian. It processes more than $800 M in annual commissions. ACS is housed on a modern platform (Varicent – www.varicent.com). As part of the internship engagement, intern will get learning opportunity to understand how Agency Compensation calculation system is enhanced, operated and modernized.
At the end of 10 weeks, it is expected that Intern demonstrate an understanding of ACS technology platform, ability to develop at least one of the calculations, reports or web forms. Ability to demonstrate code fix for a low-medium complexity production issue

A self-starter who is fueled by collaboration, able to transform conceptual thinking into executable insights who thrives in diving into business problems and using data to make decisions.
Current senior in undergraduate or graduate in Computer Science or related discipline. Understanding of Computer Science basics in Algorithms, Databases and Operating Systems
You will: be part of the Agency Finance scrum team. They will work with the scrum master, business product owner, the development team and the testing team to deliver application modules related to business value stream.
- Create System architecture diagrams
- Create process flows and sequence diagrams
- Develop unit test cases to validate application modules built
- Able to understand business stories and technical specs for application development
- Participate in Scrum Ceremonies.
- Able to work in team environment
