Do you have strong passion for accounting and financial reporting? Hasbro’s Corporate Controller’s group is looking for a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join our team! This dynamic, high-touch role, reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting, is responsible for many areas of accounting and reporting at our publicly traded, multi-billion dollar global play and entertainment company!
This role will contribute to the monthly financial close process (cash flows, derivative accounting, account reconciliations and analyses) with efficiency and accuracy. They will also assist in the preparation of Hasbro’s SEC filings such as Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K.
A day in the life of a Financial Reporting Accountant:
- Prepare the Company’s 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K SEC filings including financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A
- Prepare monthly consolidated cash flow statements which includes making adjusting entries
- Assist in implementation and compliance with new and existing accounting pronouncements and keeping current with FASB and SEC reporting requirements
- Prepare derivative accounting analysis and journal entries under ASC 815
- Assist with accounting for expense related to stock options and other equity awards and prepare quarterly disclosures required by ASC 718 and related standards
- Prepare monthly financial statements for Hasbro’s captive insurance subsidiary as well as assist in preparation and review of related actuarial studies
- Prepare annual financial statements of Company’s 401(k) plan
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 3-5 years of accounting and/or financial reporting experience, public accounting experience preferred
- Hands on experience with Longview or other consolidation software
- Experience with Workiva wDesk reporting platform a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of accounting principles, concepts and practices
- Proven ability to multitask, prioritize projects, creative problem solve and contribute efficiently and optimally in a team environment
