Kennedy Children’s Center is seeking an intern for the Fall 2021 Semester to help strengthen our relationships with local and state policymakers in order to secure funding for initiatives outside the scope of our mandated services, and to draw awareness to the inequities experienced by private early childhood providers, including staff salaries that are nearly 30% lower than those provided to public school teachers with the same qualifications.
Start and end dates are flexible!
Kennedy Children’s Center is a private nonprofit organization that has provided mandated services to public school children for over 60 years. We provide high quality education services to preschool-age children with developmental delays, in partnership with families and communities. Our child-centered, evidence-based instruction prepares each student to enter the New York City public school system in the least restrictive environment possible. We support families with training, guidance, and advocacy, and strengthen our school community through professional development and collaborations with local human service organizations. In addition, KCC is committed to empowering a new generation of early childhood educators through our Grow Your Own Teacher Assistant and Teacher Training Program.
