Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) In Kentucky is a two-year college that has seven campuses. Disability Support Services is currently looking for tutors to tutor on-line. Disability Support Services service students with variety of disabilities. Tutors will receive paid training and orientation. This is a great opportunity for students studying Education or Vocational Rehabilitation.
Provide individual tutoring to assigned students with disabilities. Work with students to improve academic achievement by meeting with them regularly to clarify subject matter. Other assistance might include reviewing class material, discussing the text, predicting test questions, formulating ideas for papers, working on solutions to problems, improving study skills, or improving organizational skills. Tutoring is a supplement to classroom teaching. Each student receives a total of two hours supplemental tutoring per week. Tutor are authorized a maximum 20 hrs /week. The pay ranges from $10-$11 per hour.
Complete New tutoring Orientation Training with DSS Tutor Coordinator. Check e-mail daily for new assignments and announcements. Contact assigned students within three working days of receiving the assignment. Be punctual for all scheduled tutoring sessions. Promptly notify the student if you cannot meet with him or her.
