About Let’s Get Ready:
Let’s Get Ready provides free SAT prep, admission counseling and post-enrollment mentoring to first-generation-to-college students and students from low-income backgrounds to help them get into and graduate from college. Let’s Get Ready trains and supports college students to serve as mentors for our students.
Success Coaches are dynamic and motivated undergraduate students who provide mentoring and support to 1st and 2nd year college students at one of our campus-based or virtual programs. Success Coaches work directly with students and provide 1:1 peer mentoring to a cohort of students by working to increase access to campus resources and build support for students.
Success Coaches report to a Let’s Get Ready Program Manager who provides support and oversight through weekly check-in calls.
- Responsible for developing relationships with a caseload of students to increase program engagement and support persistence in college.
- Conduct weekly outreach to students via phone, email, and text; including in-person meetings for campus-based coaches.
- Provide responsive support for students based on individual needs, including but not limited to: accessing academic support and school-work-life balance.
- Maintain up-to-date student records on Salesforce by tracking communication and resource referrals.
- Collect student information to share with LGR, including key milestones to ensure students are on track.
- Communicate regularly with LGR staff about progress towards goals
Community Building [Campus-based Coaches only]
- Serve as a referral resource and advocate to various campus offices to resolve student issues.
- Facilitate peer connections through hosting campus events attendance and community building activities.
Partnership Collaboration and Support [Campus-based Coaches only]
- With support from the LGR team, establish and strengthen relationships with campus liaisons.
Students must be currently in their 3rd or 4th year of college year and be in good academic standing. Students must have demonstrated leadership skills, strong organizational skills, and an extensive knowledge of campus resources. Students must be able to commit to the position for the full academic year.

- An outgoing personality and loves talking to new people
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively via multiple media with LGR staff, Site Directors, and students
- Persistent in student outreach and diligent in recording student interactions
Schedule and Compensation:
On average, the position will require 5-8 hours of work per week. Coaches will be paid at least the minimum hourly wage in their work location.
The Success Program runs from August-June, with the expectation that coaches will work through the year, including during school breaks. Flexibility will be offered for school breaks/personal breaks as appropriate to meet program objectives and in consultation with manager.
