This Fall, don’t settle for just another “get-by” part-time job!
Join us here @ Little Ivy Academy’s AcademyOnline!
We’re looking for instructors with a passion for hands-on learning and a curiosity about technology to help guide our elementary & middle-school students (K-8) in our small group, online video game-making, stop-animation video-creating, website building and/or mobile-app development enrichment labs & workshops.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE NOT NECESSARY as we will provide you with training. Liberal Arts or Social Science majors should not be scared off if you have a curious mind and the confident, patient good humor to guide our students through “figuring it out.”
This is a great part-time position for an UNDERGRADUATE, GRAD STUDENT or RECENT GRAD, possibly majoring in developmental psychology, education, the sciences, communications, engineering or similar concentration that you can do online on weekday mornings, afternoons and/or Saturdays from wherever you are!
Our learning-through-doing labs focus on our students (ages 5-14), as they actively engage both individually and in small groups in building their own range of awesome video-games & interactive stories, epic stop-animation videos, dynamic websites & mobile apps and more, all while developing greater knowledge of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) subjects & skills— REAL Hands-on Discovery, REAL Fun!
As an instructor you will be expected to do the following:
+ Provide a well-managed, high-energy, big-fun online lab environment for small groups of elementary/middle school-age children (K-8);
+ After training, be able to provide each of our students with patient guidance on working through the various concepts & projects within our curriculum;
+ Have a passion for LEGO building, video gaming, stop-animation videos, creative electronics, emerging technologies, etc. . .;
+ Interact with parents before and after labs so that they understand what their child’s working on and have opportunities to share the fun, too; and
+ Maintain all materials necessary for the teaching of each lab.
Multi-week labs & single-session workshops are held throughout each school day and afterschool on Mondays-Fridays, as well as on Saturdays. We’ll consider you as a candidate if you are available at least two days each week and have a highly reliable laptop & internet connectivity.
We look forward to hearing from you!
