Role: Internship role (HR Support)
Location: Edison NJ
Duration: 3 months (40 hours per week) with possibility of extension
The overall objective of the HR Intern is to assist the HR Manager in handling administrative tasks, maintaining records and personnel files. Ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and efficient work habits. The HR Intern will receive training and hands-on exposure to the inner workings of the Corporate world.
Role & Responsibilities:
§ Assists HR Manager with most functions of human resources including, but not limited to records management, filing, preparing presentations, drafting communications etc.
§ Assist the HR manager in audits, data entry and R&D.
§ Assists with the maintenance of permanent and electronic personnel records.
§ Attend weekly/ biweekly employee meetings and other meetings that may be required from time to time.
§ Planning Skills – Must be able to plan and manage projects and workloads in an efficient manner.
§ Logical Reasoning skills – Must have the ability to solve practical problems through analysis and development of workable solutions. Must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
§ Personal Characteristics – Work requires independent thinking as well as collaboration. Must work well in a team environment with diverse groups of people.
§ Communication Skills – Must have the ability to read, write and speak the English language and must have professional phone and email etiquettes. Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals and groups. Must have the ability to write in a professional manner using proper grammar, punctuation, etc.
§ Computer Skills – Must be able to learn and utilize enterprise software and database reporting tools. Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite- Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
§ Must be able to operate in a highly professional and confidential manner. Utmost diligence and strong ethics are required
§ Physical Characteristics –Must be able to operate a personal computer, telephone and office equipment. Will be required to regularly sit and frequently stand and walk. Will be required to lift files/folders/documents.
§ Bachelor’s degree or Must be currently enrolled in college, seeking an undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
§ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
§ Excellent word processing and proofreading skills
§ Superior verbal and written communication skills
§ Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
§ Ability to maintain confidentiality.
§ Eligible candidate must be authorized to work in USA.
Work mainly takes place in an office setting with a controlled environment.
Working Hours –40 hours per week between the hours of 9:00 am to 6:00 pm EST, Monday through Friday.
