Main Purpose Of Job
The Maryland Department of Agriculture is seeking four field technicians to assist in survey and detection activities for spotted lanternfly between October 2021 and May 2022.
Duties will include surveys of insects and trees throughout Maryland, accurate data collection, and use of equipment such as OPS units and personal computers. Work will also involve interactions with the public. Work will involve exposure to biting/stinging insects, ticks, poison ivy, high temperature and humidity and other outdoors exposure. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment. Training will be provided.
High School Diploma or GED required. Each candidates must be at least 18 years of age and possess a driver’s license valid in Maryland with no more than 5 points on the candidate’s driving record.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience with biological field work preferred but not required.
