ABOUT MELCHER MEDIA AND THE FUTURE OF STORYTELLING: Melcher Media is a cutting-edge, multimedia content shop with a reputation for thinking beyond fixed, traditional media categories. For more than twenty-five years, we’ve been at the forefront of storytelling, producing books, apps, films, websites, and more, winning multiple design and editorial awards while publishing thirty-one New York Times best sellers. Our focus boils down to one sole goal, regardless of medium, platform, or format: storytelling. Our clients and partners include some of the world’s biggest brands, such as Facebook, Adobe, Time Warner, GE, Lexus, and Nike, among others. We also produce content for our sister company, Future of StoryTelling (FoST), whose mission is to build a passionate community of people from the worlds of media, technology, and communications who are exploring how storytelling is evolving in the digital age. FoST’s year-round programming, which draws on the collective knowledge of its network of world-class experts from all different spheres of storytelling, includes Tech Tastings®; storytelling workshops; curated exhibitions with local and international organizations; a monthly newsletter; the Future of StoryTelling Podcast, recently chosen as a top “New & Noteworthy” series by Apple; and, when we are able to gather together in person again, a two-day, invitation-only Summit, which is consistently placed in top lists, including Forbes’s top “Global Events Getting Immersive Right.” Building on more than twenty-five years of telling stories for Fortune 100 brands and almost ten years of curating the Summit, in 2018 FoST developed the FoST Curriculum. This intensive three-day course, called Storytelling in the Digital Age, teaches participants the fundamentals of storytelling, how to truly get to know their customers and understand their changing expectations, best practices for telling stories in today’s ever-evolving media landscape, and how to make use of the multiple platforms available to storytellers and brands.
