We hire from a range of majors for our Gridtern program. Below are examples of majors, different department summer projects, and past departments:Mechanical Engineering ▪ Material ScienceCreate designs for large scale projects allowing for the safe reliable delivery of natural gas to customers.Analyze and select gas main segments in need of replacement.Perform overhead and underground structure loading analysis and define installation requirements per industry requirements.Perform sag and tension conductor calculations for the transmission & distribution overhead systems.Develop long and short-term investment plans for LNG, CNG and Pressure Regulation assets, providing an energy asset roadmap towards a reliable and sustainable future. 2020 Gridtern Departments included: Gas Distribution Engineering, Pressure Regulation Engineering, Electric Distribution Design, Complex Project ManagementNext StepsNational Grid’s Talent Acquisition Team shares qualified candidates’ applications with departments participating in the Gridtern program based on the interests you have noted in your resume and cover letter.
