The mission of the United States Army Public Health Center (APHC) is to enhance Army readiness by identifying and assessing current and emerging health threats, developing and communicating public health solutions, and assuring the quality and effectiveness of the Army’s Public Health Enterprise. Public health E & T project assignments will allow the participant to receive hands-on experience in the public health education and training field and Army operations and policies. The participant will gain knowledge in several areas related to the Army Public Health mission. This is an educational opportunity to gain experience in the development of Public Health education, training, and professional development.Under the guidance of a mentor, the participant will take part in the creation of education and training products that inform audiences of public health requirements, standards, and improvements. The participant will gain skills and sharpen judgment within Public Health education, training, and professional development. The participant will take part in all manner of evidence-based public health development of education, training (E&T), and professional development across multiple platforms and channels. During this learning experience, the participant will plan, apply, and evaluate various training topics and methods to achieve optimal program results and promote positive public health E&T outcomes. As the participant furthers their knowledge and understand, they will support science-based T&E initiatives to increase compliance, production, and awareness throughout the Department of Defense. Appointment LengthThis appointment is a twelve month research appointment, with the possibility to be renewed for additional research periods.
