Riverside Community Care is seeking exceptional individuals to serve as members of its Board of Directors.

Riverside Community Care, one of Massachusetts’s largest and most respected non-profit organizations in behavioral healthcare and human services, is expanding to serve new constituencies within the Commonwealth and internationally. The delivery of high-quality services, excellent staff, commitment to innovation, and advocacy have earned Riverside recognition from peers and funders alike. Riverside was recently honored by Forbes of one of America’s Best Employers (2020).

The Board of Directors provides fiduciary oversight; selects, evaluates, and determines compensation of senior executives; participates in strategic planning; and identifies candidates for the Board.

A Director’s term is three years, which may be extended to a second 3-year term.

Expectations of Directors:

• Attend at least 4 of the 5 bi-monthly meetings in a fiscal year in addition to any special meetings
• Attend at least one major fundraiser and other Riverside sponsored events
• Contribute talents and expertise such as: finance, IT, fundraising, strategic planning, marketing, human resources, real estate, healthcare, legal, business, management, customer service, public relations
• Serve as an ambassador /advocate to communicate the array and importance of Riverside’s mission and services
• Demonstrate financial leadership with an annual gift that reflects the Director’s top philanthropic priorities and assists in the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of prospective donors
• Act in a manner that conforms to Riverside’s Conflict of Interest Policy
• Contribute to and support an environment of mutual respect
