Proctors, Scribes, and In-Class Assistants are graduate students hired as needed by our office to oversee the implementation of accommodations in our office. Those interested in being hired should fill out the linked form.
Proctors monitor exam security for exams proctored by the Office of Disability Services. Requires dependability, professionalism, strong communication skills and ability to follow procedures. Proctors earn $12 an hour.
Scribes function as proctors with the added responsibility of reading or writing for the exam taker. Scribes need to demonstrate strong communication skills. Scribes earn $13 an hour.
In Class Assistants support students in the classroom who need assistance. They will attend every class of a course with the student and work as directed. In Class Assistants are paid $15 an hour.
Training is provided for all positions. Students will be chosen for a position based on their availability, educational experience, and reliability.
To qualify to become a proctor you must:
- Be a currently enrolled student within the university
- Be a graduate student
- Be eligible to work in the United States
