The Sanctuary One internship experience introduces you to the world of care farming. Care farming provides mental health and social services, promotes healing, and educates the public in a farm atmosphere. This is a benefit for humans, animals, and the environment.
Interns will be involved in the daily operations of the farm mucking, feeding, grooming, and animal care on a wide variety of animals. At the farm, we have cats, dogs, alpacas, cows, goats, horses, llamas, sheep, and pigs. As an intern, you will get to work with all of these animals and get to learn about them up close and personal. During your stay, you will work with the program coordinator and farm manager on a project that is specialized to your interest and career aspirations.
Internships run throughout the year and can last for six weeks to three months, and we offer part-time and full-time positions. We provide comfortable shared housing in our fully furnished farmhouse, on the beautiful 55-acre farm for full-time interns staying 6 weeks or longer. Interns are responsible for their food and transportation, but Sanctuary One does provide some food staples.
We are looking for interns that are:
- Good at time management
