Job Title: Social Worker Intern Student (MSW Program)   Employer: Office of The Public Defender, State of New Jersey   Location/hours: Various Public Defender Regional Offices in New Jersey Student can make their own hours, provided they have a minimum of 2 days per/week to commit. Job Description: The interns will work along with staff attorneys and investigators to refer clients to needed social services. The intern will interview clients at the office and at the county jail, under the supervision of a staff member. The intern will be responsible for locating social services, making referrals for emergency shelter placements, locating food pantries, clothing , counseling services, mental health services, community/statewide housing programs, finding employment, making assessments and conducting necessary follow-up. Intern will work with the Drug Court Attorneys, client participants and working with the general client population.
