About Education Internships:
Overview
We are currently accepting applications for our 2021 Summer Camp staff and interns. Our overnight summer camp is in Northeast Pennsylvania which is located just 2 ½ hours from New York City and Philadelphia.
Qualifications:
Group Leaders (GL) provide Trail’s End with the first level of support for both the campers and counselors. The GL is responsible for leading and supervising 36-40 campers and 10-12 staff members.
The primary function of the GL is to care for their campers and support their staff. GLs focus on all the details, ensuring the campers’ physical and emotional well-being, including any medical, dietary and social needs, are being met.
Staff management is another main responsibility of the Group Leader. GLs will supervise the Cabin Specialists and Activity Specialists that live and work within their group. Group Leaders are responsible for providing their staff with ongoing training/coaching, guidance in problem solving and regular feedback to correct or praise their work.
Applicants must be detail oriented, have excellent organizational and communication skills, and a proven ability to work with and supervise others. GLs will be trained and supported by the Head Counselors and Camp Directors. All group leaders MUST be over the age of 21. Any educators under the age of 21, we do have counselor positions.
Our Program
Trail’s End is an all-around camp that includes a strong sports program. In our sports program we look to challenge campers of all athletic abilities in the most supportive and encouraging environment. Applicants must have a desire to teach and coach campers of all skill levels. Each summer over 200 staff members are chosen and will travel from all over the world to take part in the Trail’s End Experience. As a member of our staff, you will be part of the team of people who creates a positive environment for everyone that lives in our community. We have a 50% staff return rate which is a testament to how hard we work to provide you with an experience of a lifetime. Salary
Trail’s End offers a competitive salary that is based on age and experience. Our staff will receive their salary in addition to a travel reimbursement. Room and Board are included.
Responsibilities
Our athletic staff is responsible for teaching the fundamentals of their assigned area, coaching inter-camp teams and running practices to prepare for tournament games.
