We’re looking for outcome-minded students who understand the importance of collaboration and customer focus to fill our engineering co-op positions in our La Crosse Business Unit from May to December 2021. Trane Technologies’ LBU Engineering Co-op Program provides college students with challenging assignments and valuable exposure to our company’s product development and manufacturing process. Through meaningful work projects, our co-ops are able to accumulate diverse skill sets and build a strong foundation for a successful career in the manufacturing industry. At the same time, co-ops will make a significant contribution in our mission to make the world much more sustainable. Our 6-9 month co-op programs offer candidates working toward their bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial, materials, engineering physics and chemical engineering exposure to a variety of assignments which could include new product development, product testing, product enhancement, quality and manufacturing engineering, product testing and product performance improvement. All of these positions are located in La Crosse, Wisconsin. We have various co-op positions available. Examples of potential work assignments are; Product Engineering Co-Op: * Lead cross-functional collaboration to complete small cost saving projects. * Cultivate untapped value of our product through an analysis of large amount of customer use profile data. * Design a small subsystem used on our products. Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op: * Analyzing production times and developing job breakdown sheets * Implementing manufacturing process improvement: metal forming/fabrication, CNC machining operations, mechanical assembly, welding robotics, flame/induction brazing, etc. * Assisting with new capital equipment purchases, involving business case support and equipment research * Support product performance testing Quality Engineering Co-Op: * Quality system development for new products and existing products * Partnering with Internal Audit for process improvement and documenting quality procedures * Analyzing processes, documentation, and production for quality improvement * Ad-hoc projects based on skill-level, degree, or general interest We are proud of our ability to coach and mentor co-op students for successful completion of their assignments. We also has a proven on-boarding process that enables co-ops to become effective rapidly. As we hire the majority of our full-time positions through our intern & co-op talent, successful candidates will have an opportunity to interview for full-time positions. Qualified candidates may be eligible for a lump sum payment to assist with relocation/housing expenses.
