Our office is seeking highly motivated students to serve as interns in Senator Gillibrand’s New York City Headquarters for our upcoming fall 2021 internship program.
Our internship program is designed to mentor and cultivate today’s leaders and prepare them for future public service opportunities. Students are provided a unique vantage point from which to observe and participate in government work. Interns will be placed in a number of departments in the Senator’s office including Constituent Affairs, Community Outreach, and Operations.
The internship period spans from early September through mid-December. A minimum of 15 hours per week is expected of interns.
Students should consult with academic faculty to determine if this unpaid experience will earn credit.
All applications are due by Sunday, August 1 and should include an updated resume, cover letter, writing sample, letter of reference, and transcript (unofficial is acceptable). We will interview and accept students on a rolling basis. Although preference is given to applicants who are from New York, students from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions regarding our program to our internship address at Gillibrand_InternshipsNYC@gillibrand.senate.gov.
