Member Duties : The Corporate and Community Engagement VISTA project will build the capacity of UWLC to facilitate increased engagement opportunities for Larimer County businesses and employees. Member duties include:
1.) contribute to corporate fundraising efforts,
2.) develop a corporate volunteer engagement plan,
3.) plan and execute of fundraising and stewardship events, and
4.) expand UWLC’s Generation United engagement program for young professionals

Service Description : United Way of Larimer County (UWLC) believes that access to quality education is the best way to ensure a strong economy and a vibrant community, with financial stability as a solution to decreasing the need for future social services. By engaging with their community in these areas through volunteerism and philanthropy, United Way can support nonprofit partners that are vital to creating and maintaining a resilient community. The Corporate and Community Engagement VISTA’s primary goal is to ensure that nonprofit partners have access to critical resources to alleviate poverty through economic opportunity and education. The VISTA will build capacity within UWLC, allowing for increased engagement opportunities for Larimer County businesses and employees through a variety of activities, including: fund development; corporate donor cultivation and volunteer engagement; planning and executing fundraising and stewardship events; and expanding UWLC’s engagement program for young professionals. In 2018, Fort Collins was ranked the most bike-friendly city in the United States; it’s consistently been named one of the best places to live by Livability, and was ranked 4th Happiest City in America by National Geographic. Fort Collins is located north of Denver and is home to a robust local music scene and several live music venues, in the fall and summer the city hosts several arts and culture festivals that are free and open to the public. Fort Collins is also known for its charming Old Town district that is packed with restaurants, shops, and microbreweries. Colorado boasts 300 days of sunshine and is a haven for both summer and winter sportspeople.
