As a Contract Specialist, you will support the Legal Department and other company stakeholders to ensure that documents comply and align with Company processes and industry regulations. Your primary responsibility will be to handle all aspects of contract management to support the strategic needs for the Company.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal and external departments to draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts related to procurement, supply, distribution, and customer agreements
- Support users and serve as a subject matter expert on the Company-wide Contract Lifecycle Management (“CLM”) platform
- Ensure that all contracts are compliant and adhere to industry regulations, safety standards, and legal requirements
- Maintain positive working relationships with suppliers, vendors, customers and other business partners involved in contractual negotiations
- Work closely with in-house legal counsel to identify and manage potential risks associated with contracts and implement strategies to mitigate them, with a focus on safety and operational efficiency
- Maintain comprehensive records of all contract-related documents and ensure they are organized for easy access and support compliance and audit functions
- Monitor and report on the performance of contracts and contracting processes and provide recommended modifications for process improvements as needed
- When necessary, provide guidance and training to internal teams and staff involved in contract-related matters
- Assist with Legal Department projects as needed

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred. Certificate in contract management a plus, but not required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in in contracts. Propane or Energy experience a plus, but not required.
- In-depth knowledge of statutory, regulatory, and legal terminology is a plus
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in CLM, other contract management software, and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organizational and time management skills
