It’s never too early to get career ready!

If you’re wondering when the best time to start your career readiness preparation is, the answer is: right now! Whether you’re about to graduate, just transferred from another school, or just declared your major, you’re in exactly the right place. It can sometimes feel like everyone else is farther along than you are, but the reality is that career readiness takes many different forms.

Laura Saavedra Tellez knows how important it is to take advantage of the opportunities and resources available to help Rutgers-Newark students get career ready. Hear what she had to say about how the Career Development Center helped her make the most of her time in college:

“Taking advantage of these 4 years and being career ready has been my primary focus since I came to Rutgers as I want to make sure I graduate with a secured job. Being involved with the CDC has allowed me to become aware of the different kinds of opportunities (internships, co-ops, on-campus jobs, etc.) that could help me build skills beneficial to my career. Apart from this, they have guided me on how to properly input these experiences into my resume through coaching appointments, and I also learned many helpful career-readiness tips.”
