The City of Marceline, Missouri (est. pop. 2,123), is seeking a dynamic and engaged leader to serve as City Manager. Reporting to the Mayor and City Council, the City Manager serves as the City’s Chief Administrative Officer, performing high level administrative, technical, and professional work directing and supervising the administration of the city government. This position requires a bachelor’s degree in public administration, political science, business management, or a closely related field, with a preference for a person with at least two years of experience as a municipal administrator or assistant or similar experience. A master’s degree in public administration or a related field is desirable, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to be successful in the position. Membership in the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) is preferred. The selected candidate must be bondable and possess or be able to obtain a valid Missouri driver’s license within six months.
