Description:
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Associate Analyst Student position for University Procurement Services. This position reports to the Director of Strategic Sourcing, with guidance from the Strategic Sourcing team, and acts as a key member of the University Procurement Services organization.
The student associate analyst will be responsible for supporting or leading the development, operationalization and maintenance of key sourcing initiatives such as:
- Sourcing Help Desk case management
- website content management
- procurement benefit (i.e. savings)
- sourcing pipeline
- contract pipeline
- supplier and stakeholder management engagement
The above programs are core to the sourcing mission and directly impact the ability to drive value through the Rutgers University community.
The associate analyst will also serve as a sourcing procedure, guideline and template steward.
The assignment will require working independently as well as a team collaborator with colleagues throughout the Procurement Services organization.
Key activities will include but not be limited to the following:
> Perform data analysis, identifying trends, proposing opportunities to maximize efficiencies and value
> Data cleanse existing source systems in the spirit of continuous improvement
> Develop and present recommendations based on the findings to enhance program initiatives within University Procurement Services.
> Complete special projects within University Procurement Services as needed
Minimum Education and Experience
> Pursuing Bachelors in Engineering, Science, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Statistics, Business, Finance or related field required.
> GPA cumulative 3.0 or above
Position Openings and Schedule
> Hours may range from approximately 15 hours per week during a semester to full-time hours during off-semesters periods.
> Duration will vary depending on the needs of the procurement organization and will be discussed in advance with the candidate.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
> Strong data collection, analysis and reporting, project management
> Proficient communicator (oral and written) with excellent interpersonal skills
> Analytical and strategic thinker
> High proficiency with Microsoft Office to include and not limited to Word, PowerPoint and Excel
> Self-starter and ability to generate ideas independently
> Inquisitive and action-oriented
