Department Description:
The Encoded Technologies (ET) group at GSK is located in Cambridge, MA. The ET Biology group screens protein targets against our repertoire of small molecule DNA encoded libraries (DELs) and works to build screening methods for novel classes of protein targets. Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated student for a full-time, 6-month co-op position within the ET Biology group. The co-op will be working to develop new capabilities for screening novel or difficult protein target classes. You will have the opportunity to develop expertise in additional technologies and contribute to the further development of the ET platform. As a member of this multi-disciplinary team, you will also gain insights into the early-stage drug discovery process and the advancement of the field within an industry setting.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Pursing a BS (Juniors and Seniors only), MS, or PhD in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or related disciplines.
- Has at least 4 semesters of lab-based research experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and hands-on experience with, cell/molecular biology and biochemistry techniques such as PCR, SDS-PAGE and Western Blots.
- Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the duration of the 6-month co-op (June – December 2024).
- Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cell culture and aseptic techniques
- Experience with qPCR
- Desire to tackle new biochemical challenges

Candidates who are hired for an on-site role or hybrid role, and reside outside of 50-miles from their assigned work location, are eligible for relocation stipend.
