Seeking Early Childhood Bilingual/Spanish Data Collectors
The National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER) at Rutgers University seeks Bilingual/Spanish Data Collectors to conduct classroom observations in preschool classrooms in New Jersey.
Applicants preferred: graduate students, applicants with a BA/BS, or current upperclassman undergraduate students focusing on child development, early childhood, psychology, or a related field. In addition, knowledge about child development and developmentally appropriate early childhood teaching practices is preferred (e.g., Teacher, Child Assessor, etc.). Experience in classroom settings and/or working with children ages 0- 5 is highly preferred.
- Applicants must be available to work a minimum of 3 days per week between September 2023 to June 2024 during regular school hours (7:30 AM – 1:00 PM) and be consistent throughout the data collection period
- Target hiring areas: New Jersey (you may travel up to a 1-hour distance)
- Schedules are flexible though applicants must be available to attend intensive 3-day virtual training (paid) (attendance to each day, for its entirety, is required to be considered). The training dates are to be determined.
- Data Collectors will be compensated $165 per completed observation (3.5 hours), plus travel reimbursement. Team selection will depend on experience and research study protocols.
- All Data Collectors must have reliable transportation; a valid driver’s license; and must follow all project and state health regulations regarding COVID-19, including being fully vaccinated as per university requirements.
